Polly’s Pancake Parlor is famous well beyond Grafton County for its historic maple syrup drizzled over pancakes made from freshly stoneground flour. When its original dining facility, a former wood shed built in 1938, could no longer support the more than 50,000 yearly diners it was time to expand.
To help fund this growth, GRDC provided Polly’s Pancake with a $160,000 loan through the Community Development Block Grant program. As a result of the renovations, Polly’s can now accommodate more business, a growing staff, and no longer has to close for the winter months.
“We are thrilled with the new building and especially how much busier we have been! Our winter business far exceeded budget numbers and introduced Polly’s to a whole new set of customers that only travel to the North Country during ski season. Being open all year, we can now offer our dedicated staff year round employment.”
